STORY OVERVIEW:

April O’Neil takes her story about Fugitoid to Channel 6 and shows the station head a video of what happened. Then we get a flashback to the Turtles and Zog being imprisoned by the E.P.F as Blanque is pushing Bishop to get the Menta-Wave antennae done so they control not just their prisoners, but the people of New York. Lonae overhears this and this makes her come to her senses and help the Turtles and company. Meanwhile, Fugitoid is learning ninjitsu from Master Splinter to try and prepare himself for the final showdown. Unfortunately, the final showdown comes early, and Fugitoid is thrust into saving his friends quicker than he expected.

WRITING:

This final issue in the mini-series ends on a high note with some awesome moments throughout. Andrew Joustra sticks the landing in this mini-series and sends the readers home happy. The energy level stayed consistent throughout the run and stayed very entertaining. Joustra ties up the story, well also leaving room to revisit this series later. The action and twists keep the reader entertained for the entire issue. The emergence of Fugitoid as a true hero is the definition of the hero’s journey and is done expertly. When it’s all said and done the only major flaw with this mini-series is that it wasn’t longer.

ARTWORK:

The artwork in this issue captures the distinct visual style of this version of TMNT, giving it a look that fans will instantly recognize. Louie Joyce excels in both character and background design, bringing a strong hip-hop influence to the visuals. The overall presentation fits well with the tone of both the movie and the web series. Joyce uses vibrant colors to make each panel stand out while emphasizing fine details. Brian Kolek’s lettering blends smoothly with the art and stays clear and easy to read throughout. Together, the art team creates a polished visual style that enhances the story effectively.
