Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge - Echoes of the Empire #2
Hello there! Padawan J here, the resident Star Wars expert from the ODPH! This week I'm going to be reviewing the 2nd issue of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge - Echoes of the Empire from Marvel Comics!
After journeying to Batuu Princess Leia, Chewbacca, R2-D2 & C-3PO are now being hunted by none other than Darth Vader himself! Will they be able to find the informant they’re looking for? Or will Vader get there before they do?

The Story
The second issue of the series picks up right where the first one left off. It builds off the solid start and has several incredible panels that fans are sure to love. It also has a feeling of a classic Marvel Star Wars story that you would have read back in the 1970’s or 1980’s.
The story continues it’s straightforward approach to good success. The familiar beats you saw in the first issue continue into this one and it’s a formula that works. If it’s not broke, why fix it right? The highlight for this issue is the fights you see take place because a couple of them are ones I have to admit I’d love to have seen in either animated or live action.
It’s interesting to see this play out because we know where the story is going to end up for our heroes and villains. Seeing it play out is interesting though, because it’s dealing with subject matter that largely isn’t known. I like the job Ethan is doing with the story and giving it that classic feel Star Wars fans are used to.
The Artwork
Jethro Morales, Roi Mercado & Rachelle Rosenberg are still in charge of the art for the issue and they really do a great job recreating the likeness of the actors from the movies. There’s also the familiar look that Marvel has done for the Star Wars series over the years that really lends some familiarity to longtime fans.
Overall Grade: 7/10
A solid follow up to the first issue that continues the familiar formula that’s tried and true. Together with artwork that longtime comic fans will be very familiar with. This is an issue you’re not going to want to miss out on.
