Williamson takes Tony into a conflict of friendship and vision with the latest chapter. Haunted by what happened with A.I.M., Stark is driven to save the future at any cost. Rhodey’s visit is a welcomed change of pace as the friends catch up. Readers get a better glimpse of what Stark is up to while informing Rhodey of the latest. Stark begins the chat with over-confidence in his words. It is met with some hesitation by Rhodey on the real reasons of events. Once the action starts, the time to talk is done!
When an experiment goes wrong, it is back to basics for the pair. Readers watch as they play off each other to try settling the conflict. This leads into a sound resolution with more behind it. Tony opens up about what he’s carrying. The talk becomes heated at points but ultimately is left with something still on the table. This allows the ending to carry a larger load of impact. A.I.M.’s scheming results in a rapid bounce back with more arsenals in disposal. The final page will draw a reaction as the next round of conflict begins.

Randal steps in for art duties this chapter. The nightmare of date night with Luna flips to a horror scene before closing. This leads into a deeper fallout as Stark realizes what’s happening. Rhodey gets a fantastic two page spread to welcome him to the story. His full page entrance into Stark’s lab is met with a mixed look of emotions. While happy to see his friend, the real reason is never lost on the reader.
Readers don’t wait too long for the action to take over. Another two page spread sees the experiment go south and a responses is needed. Panels get a bit frantic as the fight keeps escalating. This leads into a drastic action taken. The result ends the fight but leads into another aspect. Another series of talks cements the fractures surrounding Tony. The body language shows Tony standing on shaking ground. It leaves their story on a more stable note once cooler voices prevail. The closing pages do a great job about teasing whats next. Wait for the reaction of who’s on the final full page!
FINAL GRADE: 8.5
A visit from an old friend stirs up many emotions as Tony Stark preps for the future! Williamson crafts a sound beginning to the next arc with a strong script. Randal and the art team make the action pop with their art. A great entry point to jump on-board with.
