*** POSSIBLE SPOILER WARNING ***
.Williamson throws together a few different looks for this chapter. Masque’s breakdown of her “talent” search leads to a few discoveries. One of which is Adam Ware. The young man looks to be the key to her quest. His reward is served in a painful manner. Once the spotlight shifts to Tony and M.O.D.O.K., the action comes fast at readers. It plays out as one would expect. The uneasy partnership is fleeting and melts down. In its wake is a mysterious figure whose involvement is one to watch moving forward.
Readers watch as the action gives way to Stark’s latest “date night”. His conversation with Luna Lucia unlocks a few previous memories defining the man. It is a rare sight to see him this open. The dialogue is on point for the charming intellect. A quick does of awkwardness is thrown in before events move into a surprising close. Pacing really pushed things right along to this stage. It is a very strong finish as secrets start coming into light. The final page leaves readers wanting more as a true unknown stage is set. Another solid outing with the script.

Carnero & Woodard open with a look at Masque’s master plans. The panels reflect the extreme measures used for her goals. Ware’s full shot gives readers some insight into his true character. It is met with a negative response from Masque before changing gears. A fantastic two-page spread kickstarts the action. This brings out the fire inside M.O.D.O.K. Stark matches the intensity before the guest star finishes the scenes. They get a mysterious exit before M.O.D.O.K. spills on Masque. The foreshadowing page connects all points before moving to a more calm location.
The “Date Night” portion is a very laid-back sequence. Readers watch as Tony and Luna attempt to have a normal conversation. A small flashback panel unlocks a hidden memory perfectly before the mod shifts. The quick shot of humor is just enough before events lead into the closing pages. The two page spread of Tony using his stealth suit amps up the dangerous feel. It is complimented by Masque’s attacks. The back to back to full pages unveil the dark truths, departing with much mystery in the air. Very strong work here.
FINAL GRADE: 9
Tony Stark gets some answers for recent events, but at what cost? Williamson’s writing takes Shellhead across a wide range of emotions. Carnero & Woodard deliver on big action and larger drama with the visuals. This is the Iron Man series fans have been waiting for!
