Jo Mullein is captured by the Darkstars on Zillaboq during some needed R&R! Katma also finds the same fate from Earth!

The moves don’t go unnoticed as other Lanterns are drawn to the planet for rescue.

Meanwhile, The ALLSIGHT OF OA Guy Gardner confronts an entity while trying to solve the mystery of the Book of OA!

GREEN LANTERN CORPS #21 by Morgan Hampton, Vasco Georgiev, Serg Acuña, Juan José Ryp, Arif Prianto, Matt Herms & Dave Sharpe (DC COMICS) ramps up the space action!

Let’s take a closer look at what goes down here!

*** POSSIBLE SPOILER WARNING ***

Hampton’s ability to juggle so many moving storylines without missing a beat needs to be applauded. Jessica Cruz’s formation of the Alpha Guardians leads to more unease interactions (primarily from Larfleeze). The conversation sprinkles in some light humor before re-routing to Gardner’s current fight. The confrontation with Predator intensifies as Gardner makes a shocking discovery. His inner dialogue expresses his mistrusts until a major curve is thrown into play. It works perfectly to transition to the Zillaboq drama.

Readers watch as the Lanterns make their way through the living city, more personal conversation give way. Simon and Keli’s hustle for information is a great change of pace. Seeing the pair snag the info is classic in delivery. It is a far cry from John and El. Hampton taps into some emotional scars when the pair speaks. It is a heavier point before re-routing for the mission at hand. The writing stages this to run along side Gardner’s major revelation concerning the Entities hidden truth. Readers never get short-changed on impact for either. The rescue mission is pure excitement while Gardner’s is more deeper in its’ building stage. This leads to a superb finish with much room to expand with.

READ LAST ISSUE’S REVIEW!

The art begins with Cruz’s meeting with the newly christened Alpha Guardians. Larfleeze’s reaction to Cruz’s decree plays up his selfishness. The response is stern before switching over to Gardner’s fight. Ryp’s full shot of Guy fighting Predator ignites the action. The frantic pace shows how overwhelmed the Allsight was. It’s a soli look before handing over duties to the Zillabog rescue scenes.

Simon and Keli’s con works to create some light-hearted time in dealing with aliens. It is a familiar Lanterns look while the drama gets heavier with John and El. Stewart’s looks of regret are shunned as El states her take on their family ties. While brief, it is one of the standout pieces of the issue. The rescue starts off with building anticipation while El maneuvers the scene. Story points begin to jump around here, but takes nothing away from impact. Gardner’s fight leads to a strong full page look at “The Cleanse”. It results in calmer settings before heading back to the rescue.

Readers watch as the art brings out the best of El’s powers with multiple transformations. The “werewolf” moment gets a stunning half panel. It continues to evolve as the mission goes forward. Once nearing the end, the art throws in an excellent shot of Lanterns in flight before heading to Gardner for the last pages. One last shocking full page crafts more questions before leaving on a high note.

FINAL POINT: 8.8

The Lanterns attempt a bold rescue while Guy Gardner gets some history from the Book of OA in another incredible issue. Hampton weaves many sub-plots while unloading solid action throughout. The art brings the energy with each and every panel. When you want the best of “Green Lantern” stories, this is what to read!
