GREEN LANTERN #32 (DC COMICS)
The Book of Oa has rattled Hal Jordan to his core.
It has led him on a journey to search for answers from within. This has had an assist from Green Arrow, Batman and the one and only Barry Allen. His latest stop is one with a deeper motive behind it. Hal’s attempt at Date Night with Carol Ferris is anything but average on this occasion.
GREEN LANTERN #32 by Jeremy Adams, Montos, Romulo Fajardo Jr. & Dave Sharpe sees more things popping off than a few one-liners
Let’s take a closer look at what Hal’s up to now!
GREEN LANTERN #32 by Jeremy Adams, Montos, Romulo Fajardo Jr. & Dave Sharpe (DC COMICS)
*** POSSIBLE SPOILER WARNING ***
Adams gives Hal a quieter night than his previous pairing. Opening with Dove and Carol in Paris, the story quickly moves into a romantic setting. The dialogue between Hal and Carol is classic in design. This gets uprooted by bringing back the Krona sub-plot. It’s been a while since readers have been presented this drama. It serves as a solid break between the ever-flowing romance. The scenes play out almost too good to be true for Hal. Luckily for the readers, this doesn’t last forever.
The writing brings a fitting rogue to crash events. This provides a solid moment to spin the romance out the window. In its’ place stands a very, very angry character ready to unleash hell. Their dialogue is on point for the matter at hand. It leads into a deflating moment persay but one that completely makes sense. This gives way for another pairing to close the show with. Adams makes this a full passing of the torch when their talk picks up steam. It leaves events with a few questions heading into next month’s legacy celebration. A steady issue all around.

Carol’s reaction is priceless as the pair finally gets a moment to themselves. Once events swing to Krona, the mood instantly flips to more mystery. It is brief but effective in presentation. Once events move back to Paris, the scenes pay homage to classic Hollywood romance themes. Hal and Carol’s conversation express many emotions before a disturbance switches levels.
The rogue featured here gets a half page image to debut. This leads into some fast action. A full page blast rocks events into tipping a hand at the surprises. Nothing is better than Carol’s reaction to the revelations taking place. The fallout moves into a playful, yet serious response. How Carol’s creation continues to evolve its’ features is subtle but hits a bullseye. This is capped off in the fallout from the conflict. A full page image of Carol sends events to closing. Another full image wraps up events here before the closing act. The friendly banter between Hal and another familiar face shows the growth and weight behind Hal’s choice. This ultimately leads into a surprising full final page. All bets are off where things go from here.
