STORY OVERVIEW:

As a truck full of kidnapped kids is on its way to sell them at an auction in St. Louis. The kidnappers run into a huge problem, Ashley Arden. The Glowing Woman does what she does best and dispatches of the kidnappers, before going to save a young girl who was sold along the way. She tells the kids this will never happen again as she will show them how to defend themselves, and she will do so in St. Louis. When they arrive, Ash has the children take out the auction, using the guns and ammo she taught them how to use them on the way there. This marked the beginning of her revenge tour. However, we find out there is a new mercenary hunting Tariq, and this one may be an immortal challenge.

WRITING:

This issue deals with some serious crimes and really triggering stuff. Geoff Johns does an awesome job of walking the line and never going too far, well still going far enough to shine light on these serious issues. Johns also does a fantastic job of showing the true anti-hero nature of Ashley Arden. The evolution of her character is great and really shows growth in its own messed up way. The tease of the upcoming crossover in the epilogue of this issue should have all Ghost Machine fans extremely excited, as the UnNamed Universe is about to really pop off.

ARTWORK:

The artwork in this issue stands out as exceptional, continuing the series' reputation for outstanding visuals. Led by Gary Frank, the art team contributes something truly special to the book. The design of the Glowing Woman is particularly notable, offering a look that is both different and still striking, even compared to the Glowing Man. Brad Anderson’s color choices play a significant role in making the art pop, bringing additional depth and vibrancy to each scene. The collaboration between the artists demonstrates why this team is considered among the best in comics today, delivering consistently high-quality work that enhances the story and engages the reader.

Well, the tease in the epilogue will have readers excited for Tariq’s return next month and the beginning of the crossover event. Geiger is one of the most well-rounded books on the shelves of the LCS and should definitely be on everyone’s Pull List.
