Fleecs begins with the aftermath of Leland’s test. The talk amongst Elsie and Lord is tough and reflecting the current situation they are in. It comes with a cold dose of truth in concerns of leadership. Timing is crucial as there is only one chance at freedom. As the attempt is made, panic sets in.

Readers watch as the jailbreak goes into a dangerous detour. The writing spotlights the scared effort to find hope. Panels are overwhelmed with the fears rising even higher. It steers events into a clear and unforgiving direction. Fleecs takes events up another notch with the closing. The final panel will have fans talking as it is a game changer.

Forstner and the team begin with a near full shot of Leland’s aftermath. It is a string indication on what the humans have been working with. Lord and Elsie’s conversation runs through many looks as they banter about what they’ve seen. It leads to a bold action given a near full shot. From here, the pacing speeds up to cover the chaotic scene of events.

Readers are treated to a wild breakout. Tensions run high with each passing panel. This results in some true surprises. None greater then the final panel. The whole sequence of events leading into it constructs a huge emotional response. Once the panel hits, it sends readers home with many thoughts onto what happens from here.

The Stray Dogs addition offers a few new looks at the escape from the CDC. Ghost’s stare at Moosh’s empty cage is an impactful whole page image. The writing moves Ghost into a reluctant savior to the dogs. Panels show how they assemble fast to plot their moves. Sophie and Rusty’s banter comes with great emergency behind it. This moves events to a horrific realization. The final page pulls no punches as the message comes very clear. The dogs have to make some tough decisions fast before its too late.

FINAL GRADE: 9.3

One chance to find freedom proves costly for Elsie and the crew in an emotional roller-coaster issue. Fleecs takes readers into uncomfortable places with the journey. Forstner and the team unveil the true natures of the cats and dogs knowing what lurks outside the room. When it comes to high stakes and shocking twists, there’s really nothing like Feral.
