STORY OVERVIEW:

The night continues and the families grow more restless as we are now down to the final 5 Killers. This means that five families are still in the running, with the New York family really pushing everyone’s buttons. This causes some of the families to start positioning themselves in favor or opposition of the finalists. Meanwhile, Mike, Jason, and Xavi make their way to the high school so they can use the school’s radio to try and reach out for help. Unfortunately for them the only response they get is from the cleanup crew, who are now on their way to get them. That is unless Laura can stop the cleanup crew. But that may not matter as Rascal Randy has arrived at the high school and is looking to get a little violent.

WRITING:

This issue does a great job of showing the distress and distrust among the 13 First Families. Tyler Boss does a great job of taking the reader inside and revealing some of the true feelings of the powerful families. Boss’ decision to start a possible alliance that could change the entire outcome of the game adds a new and interesting wrinkle to the story. The survivors we have been following have all ended up in some interesting situations coming out of this issue. Creating an air of can they make it together as a unit or will they all be picked off one by one. The action took a backseat yet again in this issue, but what the story lacked in action, it gained in a great setup for what is to come next.

ARTWORK:

The artwork in this issue stands out as exceptional, maintaining the high standard that readers have come to expect from the series. Valentine De Landro skillfully captures the unique atmosphere of the story, with stylish visuals that immerse the audience in the world and breathe life into every scene. Jordie Bellaire continues to impress with her signature coloring, enhancing the mood and reinforcing the series’ distinct visual identity. In addition, Becca Carey delivers impeccable lettering, ensuring the narrative flows smoothly and making the story easy to follow for readers.
