READ LAST ISSUE’S REVIEW!
Schmidt & Prianto begin events with a full shot of Princess Zala being ran for help. The frantic look subsides to let Arthur Curry converse around other notable figures. The introduction to Black Manta stands out with the full page looks. Readers can easily see the evil they is capable of. Once back in the present, Curry’s face reveals the dread of not stopping Manta. It takes a backseat to the more pressing issue involving the House of El.
Panels show how Zala’s sickness is impacting rational thought. Seeing certain characters weigh in impacts the reactions. This moves events to a return to Metropolis where a half page shows someone lurking. It distracts enough for the dramatic return and subsequent time jump. At this stage, the residents are venting their frustration at some noteworthy visitors. Pages turn angry quick as explosive personalities ignite into orchestrated chaos. The wild visuals take readers into the secrets of one character and their power grab. This turns the closing pages into a complicated scene as a house crashes and burns. Solid work.
FINAL GRADE: 8.7
