STORY OVERVIEW:

As the might of the IPPF comes down on Akeldama and Desmiox they prepare to make their final stand. As they have their backs against the proverbial wall it looks like all hope is lost. However, the natives of the planet have decided that they are willing to fight for Akeldama & Desmiox. This makes the battlefield a little more even and the fight gets a whole lot more interesting. Which side will survive and win this battle?

WRITING:

This issue really brings the action and drama to a new high for the series in this issue. Benito Cereno taps into the emotion of Akeldama’s past along with her newfound friendship with Desmiox. The back and forth with saving each other and the touching ways that it happens really tug at the readers heartstrings. Cereno really makes the reader feel all of the emotions throughout this whole issue. But it’s not just the drama and emotional stuff that delivers as the action scenes are amazing. The battle between our protagonists and the IPPF feels epic and is second to none in excitement.

ARTWORK:

The principal strength of Blood & Thunder lies in E.J. Su’s meticulous and imaginative artistry, which consistently animates diverse worlds and characters. In this issue, his illustrations play a pivotal role in conveying the drama and action scenes that play out. The striking color palette provided by Msassyk further augments the visuals, enhancing both the atmosphere and emotional resonance of the work. The art team delivers each and every issue and this issue is no different.

Final Thoughts:

Blood & Thunder #12 is one of the best issues in this entire series and with how solid this series has been that’s saying something. The drama makes you feel for the characters that we have fallen in love with. Well the action is what keeps you engaged throughout the issue.
