Lemire rattles Wally’s world with many elements cracking his foundation. The return to Central City is met with a sense of optimism. Knowing how all survived the last encounter, the mood is higher than it should be. Much of this has to deal with Ralph and Sue Dibney. Their conversation warms the bruised heart of West. It is a moment that should have led to some type of peace. This sinks fast as major changes commence. The writing teases enough before switching gears to the latest problem.
Hunter Zoloman makes a sly debut for this latest issue. His banter with Thawne and Dr. Bones delivers on his cockiness. It establishes his deceitful nature as Zoom is given his latest target. The conversation doesn’t let up on the pressure, even when a wild card is added. Readers see Central City break down rapidly with Wally searching for answers. The danger causes Flash to make haste in trying to stop it. This welcomes Zoom into play with devastating results. As impactful as that is, the wild card makes their presence known with a disturbing manner. Things just became super complicated in a blink of an eye. Brace for it.

Robles returns for art duties with Lucas. The opening pages depicts the unknown future for Wally Linda and Grodd. Wally’s frustrations boil over from panel to panel. This spins into the path of the Dibneys. Readers watch as the calm tone offers some comfort to West until fate changes moves. A horrific two-page spread shows the deadly fate of the beloved couple. It easily catches the audience off guard before moving to Zoom’s intro.
The conversation with Zoom and his bosses is filled with tension as orders are given. Zoloman’s disdain for what he’s told is clear. It’s met with hostile responses from Thawne as there’s no room to give. The moment ends with some questions before going back to the monster show. Another wild two page spread showcases the terror on the streets. This keeps escalating until Flash intervenes. Some brief action panels offer hope until Zoom crashes the party. Their fight goes brutal swiftly as the city falls apart. The final page welcomes the wild card in with a full page look. Suffice to say, the streets are running wild in Central City.

Wally West is faced with his greatest challenge yet as Zoom arrives in Central City!. Lemire taps into some horror elements while speeding the drama through. Robles and Lucas run with the insanity plaguing Wally’s life with impressive art. It’s always all gas, no breaks when it comes to Absolute Flash!
