WWE SummerSlam 2026 Predictions!
It’s time for the “biggest party of the summer”! That’s right, the second biggest WWE PPV of the year is almost here in SummerSlam! From The Mega Powers vs The Mega Bucks to Bret “The Hitman” Hart vs British Bulldog to Undertaker vs Brock Lesnar, the show has seen plenty of incredible matches over it’s nearly 40 year history!
For those who may not know, the show now takes place over 2 nights on August 1st & 2nd, and U.S. Bank Stadium (the home of the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings). It’ll be streaming in the US on ESPN+ & Netflix Internationally (check local listings to be sure). So will this year show be able to live up to the hype? Let’s get right into it!

Usually when WWE does a two night event, you can tell that one is probably going to be better than the other. However this year it really feels like both nights are loaded with incredible matches. So let’s get right into it!

Night One
Liv Morgan (Champ) vs Iyo Sky (Women’s World Championship)
After Liv defeated Stephanie Vaquer back at Wrestlemania 42 to win the championship, we’ve yet to see Liv actually defend the belt. She was a participant in the Queen of the Ring tournament and even made it to the finals against Iyo Sky, but came up just short. Now she’s coming face to face with the last person to pin her clean in the ring, and the only one in the last year. Will Iyo be able to pull it off?
I would like to say yes, but I just can’t. Iyo has been on her own this entire feud and has been forced to deal with not only Liv, but fellow Judgement Day members Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez. You have to figure that there’s going to be some interference from the latter two leading to Liv’s eventual win.
Prediciton: Liv Morgan retains the belt
Oba Femi vs Brock Lesnar - Hell in a Cell Match
This is match that I don’t think I need to give a lot of explanation for. However I’ll give a brief one for those who might not be caught up. On one side you have Brock Lesnar, one of (if not the) most dominating combat sports athletes the world has ever seen. You likely know his wrestling resume, and that speaks for itself alone. On the other side you have Oba Femi, the 28 year old force from Nigeria that has taken WWE by storm since he made his main roster debut back in January.
You’ve got two imposing forces on a collision course for each other and the only thing to stop them is the walls of Hell in a Cell. There’s also a lot of intrigue with this match, because it is taking place in Minneapolis, Minnesota which is of course Brock’s hometown. The rumors have been swirling for a while that he is going to have his final match here. Will it be true? I could see it happening, but time will tell.
I’m predicting some insane moments with this match, it’s going to be a contender for match of the weekend. Plus I would not be surprised if they go barrelling through the walls of the catch in an insane spot. Regardless, make a bathroom run and get some food BEFORE this match cause you won’t want to miss a single second!
Prediction: Oba Femi wins via pinfall
LA Knight, Solo Sikoa, Royce Keys vs The Bloodline (Jacob Fatu, Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso)
This is a match that admittedly feels thrown together and the only buildup has been LA Knights ongoing issues with The Bloodline. It still should make for an intriguing match because you’ve got the monster that is Jacob Fatu in the match, together with the charismatic Solo Sikoa. Seriously if you didn’t see the segment on Monday Night Raw with Solo, go watch it and see what I mean.
It’ll be interesting to see if LA Knights side can coexist because Knight has had his issues with Solo for a while now, and Royce Keys is an unknown commodity for him right now. Will they be able to coexist? I don’t think so because Jimmy & Jey are one of the best tag teams WWE has ever seen, and together with Jacob who’s been built up into a monster that only Roman can stop.
Prediction: The Bloodline wins
Gunter vs Nick Aldis
Ever since Nick Aldis made his debut on WWE as the new General Manager of Smackdown, fans have wanted to see him in a match for quite a while. Now, after screwing Gunther out of a win at the last Saturday Night’s Main Event, we get that opportunity. He has a tall task ahead of him as he’s facing Gunther. Gunther has retired Goldberg, John Cena AND AJ Styles, on top of his other incredible accolades in WWE.
That’s not to say Aldis is a slouch as he is a former TNA World Heavyweight Champion AND NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion along with 5 other belts he’s one. Unless you’ve seen his work, I feel like a lot of people are sleeping on this match. As for the outcome? Most people I think would expect Gunther to win, but I think it would be more interesting to see him LOSE and spiral out of control and really turn him into a monster.
Prediction: Nick Aldis Wins
The Bella Twins (Nikki and Brie) with Paige vs Fatal Influence (Jacy Jane, Lainey Reid and Fallon Henley)
These two sides have been feuding for a little while know, with Fatal Influence winning the Women’s Tag Titles recently. However, past that there hasn’t really been much of a build up other than some interference between the two. I think this match is going to fall somewhere in the middle of the show and be used after one of the big ones fans are expecting. Which is a shame, because both teams are great and really deserve some shine.
Prediction: The Bella Twins & Paige win
CM Punk (Champ) vs Cody Rhodes - Undisputed WWE Championship
The match that everyone has wanted, but we’ve had to wait 17.5 years to see (yes, really). You’ve got CM Punk who returned after a brief absence after Wrestlemania to win the champioship going against Cody Rhodes who always seems to be fighting an up hill battle at SummerSlam. I’m expecting an incredible match between the two, and one of the best matches you’ll see this year.
Prediciton: CM Punk retains

Night Two
Trick Williams (Champ) vs Baron Corbin - WWE United States Championship
Talk about a match that’s been thrown together for REASONS this is your prime example. After making a shocking return to WWE on the July 10th edition of Smackdown attacking Trick Williams, it allowed him to jump everyone in the line and earn a shot at the title at SummerSlam. I have no idea what to expect here, but I am expecting the crowd to be LOUD for Williams’ entrance.
Prediction: Trick Williams retains
Sami Zayn vs Finn Balor - #1 Contender Match for the Undisputed WWE Championship
After Nick Aldis interfered with Gunther as I mentioned earlier, Sami Zayn was in that match as well. He wanted to be inserted into the Cody vs Punk match IMMEDIATELY, however General Manager Adam Pearce had other plans. Pearce told Zayn that the winner of a Fatal Four Way that night would get to face him at SummerSlam for the next chance at the belt. Finn Balor won that match, and now here we are. This match is getting slept on HARD for this night of the card. Finn & Sami are going to put on a barn burner of a match that I think has the chance to steal the show for that night.
Prediciton: Finn Balor wins
Danhausen vs Dominick Mysterio - Human Monies on a Pole Match
So how did we get here? Well, back in June Liv Morgan tried to pay Danhausen to curse Oba Femi to the tune of $100,000 to help her boyfriend Dominick Mysterio win against Oba. Danhausen took the money, and did not curs Oba. Ever since it’s been a game of cat and mouse for the money, and now we’re looking to finally settle things. Some fans are turning their nose up at this, but I’m not one of them. This is going to be a hilarious comedy match that is going to be fun to watch. Don’t take it to seriously and just watch for the comedy and I think you’ll enjoy it.
Prediction: Danhausen winshausen
Tiffany Stratton vs Jade Cargill vs Chelsea Green vs Charlotte Flair vs TBD (Giulia or Lash Legend) - Five Way Ladder Match for the Interim Women’s Championship
So as of the time of writing, the last entrant has not been determined yet. This match came together once it was determined that Rhea Ripley could not compete due to an ongoing injury she’s had for a while now. Talk about losing a $10 bill and finding a $100 bill, because this match is going to be great. Expect a lot of spots and some insane moments that is going to have the internet talking.
Prediciton: Tiffany Stratton wins
Penta (Champion) vs Chad Gable - WWE Intercontinental Championship
This is another match that has the opportunity to steal the show. On one side you have Penta, the phenomenal IC Champ who’s been doing great things with the belt. On the other side you’ve got Chad Gable who’s been in one of the best stories WWE has done in a few years with Chad Gable. WWE isn’t going to get a better chance to have an ending like this again if they tried.
Prediction: Chad Gable wins the IC Championship
Roman Reigns (Champion) vs Seth Rollins - World Heavyweight Championship
This is a match that truly needs no buildup or explanation. The history between these two is well known and well documented. Is this going to be the final match between the two? Probably not. Will it be the last match between the two for a few years? Probably yes. After this match I can’t see the two crossing paths for a singles match again until perhaps the end of one of the twos careers. So this is a match you’re not going to want to miss out on.
Prediciton: Roman Reigns retains
