*** POSSIBLE SPOILER WARNING ***

This is exactly as advertised (and that’s not a bad thing). Ahmed delivers on a vicious showdown where Logan has to use his experience as the true weapon of choice. Taskmaster always makes for a formidable foe. His usage of Wolverine’s healing provides a doorway he’s never had open. Readers watch the brawl go back and forth until some devine intervention happens.

It leads to a shake-up of recent woes for Logan. The fallout provides him a direction to go get some payback. When he arrives there, the writing throws a curve into the mix. This isn’t just a “wolverine revenge” tale. There’s a different twist used to set up the conflict. It results in a wild fashion leading into arguably the blow-off point of this aspect. A fun read for anyone looking for what Wolverine does best.

MORE X-MEN ACTION!

The art understands the assignment at hand. Using a shadowy perspective, Logan is caught off guard to start. Taskmaster’s relishing every moment he gets to extract some revenge. This fills up many panels as the two go for broke. Only when an assist is taken does the fight come to a shocking conclusion. Logan’s mannerisms rarely change as he refocuses direction to his main target.

Once here, readers see him have a long awaited confrontation. His opposition presents his case with trembling fear. It is a definite contrast to where Logan stands. his tough demeanor is ready to strike. This gets worse as the final act wraps. A full image of what’s coming leaves readers in a solid landing spot ready for more.

FINAL GRADE: 8.6

If you want action, you got it. Ahmed presents a great bout between two elite fighters with a steady backdrop of plot. The art embraces the violence with intense panels. Logan does what he does best and there’s no apologies for it!
