With the war in the rear view mirror, the unlikely trio deals with many reeling emotions. The writing sees each member handle events very differently. Pythona is letting her rage consumer her. Darak is using humor to cope with the loss of his father. Both pack an equal punch with readers. It forces them to re-examine their new stat quos. Readers watch as one miracle falls into Pythona’s hands.
This moment gives her a reset that shows a new side of the famed G.I. Joe rogue. Once attention goes to Solia consoling Darak, the emotions pour out. It is a powerful sequence that shows the true ramifications of the last event. There is little time to rest here as a surprise character makes a huge debut. There is no underselling this factor. Readers have better get ready for who walks into the doomed pair’s life now!

Hughes and Delpeche goes huge for illustrating for the Leviathan’s voyage. The full pages show the struggle to travel and subsequent forced landing. Readers watch as Pythona lets her anger out with some striking panels. This breaks for only a moment as her guard finally breaks. Seeing her crying about the War makes a statement. It forces Darak to lean into the same direction.
Once events lead into a steady path, the scenes reflect some possible hope. Panels see Pythona gifted a sign. Where this will lead is very up in the air. It doesn’t match the intensity of Darak’s talk with Solia. The panel show the usual jovial fighter in a state of deep remorse. Receiving compassion is a rarity for Darak and it shows in the panels. This moment is huge enough but Hughes drives home the close with a monster impression. The full page image welcomes the latest hero into the Energon Universe is a very calm fashion. Exoect this image to make some rounds on the interwebs and the shops.

The fallout of the Quintesson War shows the true pain of loss. Kirkman unveils deeper sides of the main figures as they accept what has transpired. Hughes and Delpeche hit the high points on the emotional drivers. Brace for that final page and debut! Void Rivals never ceases to impress.
