The Story
George Mann storytelling is so perfectly fit for this era of Star Wars storytelling and his work continues to shine in this final issue of the series. It really reminds me of some of the stories I remember reading during the time of the prequels between the comics & novels.
The story does a great job building up to the finale of the issue and the series. You continue to see some of the same beats hit in this issue and a lot of resolution come to the story in a really satisfying way. I liked the way the story ended up resolving itself because once you were able to step back and see the full picture it made a lot of sense.
Overall, it was a solid story from start to finish and one that fans of The High Republic Series I think would enjoy. It’s one filled with mystery and intrigue fit perfectly inside the Star Wars universe.
The Artwork
Vincenzo Riccardi is in charge of the artwork for the issue and it is really impressive. It’s easily the most visually stunning issue of a Star Wars comic I’ve ever seen. The artwork is so visually different from any other Star Wars comic on the stands right now that I really think it lends a unique look to the issue. I really liked how crazy the art got the more intense the story got.
Overall Grade: 7/10
George Mann & the entire creative team closes out a tremendous story with a fantastic issue. The story is one that any Star Wars fan can jump into and read, no matter how big a fan you are. Mann’s spectacular storytelling & the incredible artwork really make this an issue you should check out!
