The Story

Rodney Barnes does a great job adapting the story of the Disney+ series to comic book form in a really faithful way. It’s been a while since I’ve seen the series but reading the issue brought back my memory of what happened in the series. From start to finish you can tell the time and care he took to make sure the story lines up without much deviation.

The faithfulness of the adaptation of the series is a highpoint of the issue, because for as much flak as the series might have gotten the story is a really good one. The story in this issue follows the first episode in a really great way that is sure to feel familiar to those who’ve seen the series, and is sure to be extremely compelling to those who might’ve passed up on it.

The Artwork

Will Sliney & Rachelle Rosenberg are in charge of the artwork for this issue and they do a tremendous job adapting the characters from the live action series to a 2D format. The action sequences are particularly fantastic and really are the highlights of the issue. Overall the artwork compliments the story in such a great way that they really do play off each other well.

Overall Grade: 7/10

A great issue that adapts the story of the Disney+ series in an incredibly faithful way. If you haven’t seen the series and don’t have Disney+ this is a fantastic way to experience the show for the first time as it’s so faithfully adapted.
