The Story
Ethan Sacks tells an interesting story in what’s the final issue of the series. It does a good job wrapping up all of the storylines nicely and even does a good job tying it into the larger story with where it’s set in the Star Wars universe. It was interesting to see the story being told to Rey finally play out and get the resolution on it. On the surface I was surprised it played out the way it did but like all stories passed down through the years/generations, ultimately there is a mixing of messages.
Ethan did a really great job mixing in the two time periods in a way that felt really natural and made for an interesting story. He also did a great job making the story feel like such a classic Star Wars story in such a way that every Star Wars fan is sure to enjoy.
The Artwork
Jethro Morales, Roi Mercado & Rachelle Rosenberg are still in charge of the art for the issue and they really do a tremendous job recreating the likeness of the actors from the movies. There’s also the familiar look that Marvel has done for the Star Wars series over the years that really lends some familiarity to longtime fans. It’s the sense of familiarity, together with how easy a story it is to jump into that add to the readability of the issue.
Overall Grade: 8/10
A solid finale to the series that continues the familiar formula that’s tried and true. Together with artwork that longtime comic fans will be very familiar with. This is an issue you’re not going to want to miss out on.
