STORY OVERVIEW:

Frank Castle races his way towards his destination with the police in tow. However, Tombstone arrived at the party early and thought he was going to get the drop on Frank. But what he doesn’t know is that the place he thinks Frank is already at is actually the home of the Kingpin. The Punisher has set a trap for both of his enemies, and he is going to be the guest of honor. The carnage and destruction will soon follow. The only question that remains is who will be left standing?

WRITING:

Where last issue was a bit of a slow burn, this issue is a full-on action filled assault. Ben Percy does an awesome job of keeping the pedal to the metal and the action running for the entirety of the issue. Percy does all of this well, letting the reader know exactly what makes Frank Castle tick. The deliberation and realization of Frank’s master plan plays out like a beautiful yet violent symphony. The crescendos are so masterful, that there is almost a sense of humor with some of the outcomes. The way the issue ends sets up for future stories, well giving this arc a definitive ending.

ARTWORK:

The artwork in this issue matches the insane action filled intensity of the story. Julius Ohta does an amazing job of bringing the violence and carnage to life. Ohta leaves little to the imagination in this issue, as he takes the reader through every gory and brutal encounter. The imagery is unmatched and definitely not for the faint of heart. Each panel has enough action to fill a normal book and then some.

Yen Nitro does an awesome job of making the images pop with the color selections. The gore and brutality really come to life with the colors which amplifies the artwork. At the same time, Cory Petit does an expert job with lettering. Making the story easy to follow, well also giving the reader the right tone for each panel.
