*** POSSIBLE SPOILER WARNING ***

“People are not the worst thing they’ve done. They’re the thing they do now.”

Miles is torn. After learning about his dad’s involvement in Revenant’s origin in the last issue, he wonders whether his dad wasn’t always a good man. Luckily, Valentina is there to remind him that we’re not defined by our worst mistakes.

Revenant himself bursts through Brooklyn Visions Academy, looking for Miles to get to Jefferson. Round three!

After losing the fight again, Jefferson steps up and offers himself to Martin, and the two disappear together. Jefferson is going to get his.

READ LAST ISSUE’S REVIEW!

Through four issues, there hasn’t been much progression in Miles’s understanding of his newest villain. All he’s trying to do is survive each encounter, and it’s like he hasn’t learned much from their previous fights. Odd, considering how smart he is..

Also, no Kingpin appearance, even though he’s on the cover, which is also an odd choice. This issue would’ve done well with a Fisk cameo, maybe a discussion between him and Miles where Miles learns more about Martin’s previous life, or how to stop him?

The art in here is still incredible and dynamic. Nico Leon wears his anime influences on his sleeve, and that certain sheen in the shading by Bryan Valenza gives this series a unique flair. Their use of light brightens up every page, making even more sense because of Revenant’s hard-light construct powers.

FINAL GRADE: 7.9

All in all, an enjoyable read, but not much progression in Miles’s understanding of Revenant. I’m sure it’ll pick up now that Jefferson has gone missing. Also, Valentina knows Miles is Spider-Man, right?
