*** POSSIBLE SPOILER WARNING ***

The writing leads with the sense of duty as Henry tackles his latest assignment with no regrets. As Bombshell drops Jin and him into the portal, New York City becomes the chaotic playground of events. It doesn’t take long for the pair to find some trouble. The action revs up as they go to work to subdue some threats. Henry’s dialogue is a return to form since Edge’s attacks. In post, Henry opens up a small window of dialogue as the business remains front and center. Once the new assignment comes about, all Hell’s about to break loose.

Pending on when you read this before or after Fireborn #5, the version of events favors the lead character here. The fight between Fireborn and Henry is as epic as advertised. There are no punches pulled. Henry’s grit is on full display. His adversary holds his own with the spire of youth behind him. This builds to a sound resolution. Once the smoke clears, Henry’s journey takes a dire turn. The closing pages indicate a greater threat in waiting. It leaves on a strong note with fans waiting on baited breath for what’s next.

READ LAST ISSUE’S REVIEW HERE!

Casalanguida begins the visuals with a fast paced start. The full page image of Henry and Jin dropping into the portal sets a high bar. This moves onto more action as the streets f New York are anything but quiet. There’s no shortage of strong violence unfolding here. Panels move fast as Henry gets to work. A solid half panel launches him into combat. Jin’s time flows with ease as the spotlight shifts. There’s a great sequence that plays off the aggressiveness to a wild finish. It allows for some perosnal looks to take place before the main event.

As for the marquee match, the art doesn’t disappoint. A spectacular full shot shows Aaron and Henry throwing their strikes. This leads to a small break of heroics before the combat resumes. A stunning full image with hot pink coloring stops everything on a dime. This transitions nicely to a hug full page image that spirals into flashbacks. It leads to a steady landing spot before the closing act begins. Readers watch as the final pages set up a huge lead-in with a touch of mystery behind it. Amazing work.

Heague and Belviso close out the show with a Bombshell special. The writing shows Bombshell on the case of a terrorizing threat. Her inner monologue calms readers’ worry as she notes her skills being enough for the job. Once her move is made, things go sideways fast. Belviso’s art pops when the action commences. No better example of this than the full “Bombs Away” page. This ramps up the pace while Heague’s dialogue constructs the heavy weight of the situation. It steers events into a shocking landing spot, but one where this story proves it’s only just begun. Heague on Bombshell is always a huge win. Add in Belviso’s art and readers should be clamoring for an ongoing with this pair at the creative helm.

FINAL GRADE: 9

You want action? YOU GOT IT!. The writing stages a furious main event throwdown for the ages. Casalanguida brings the adrenaline fueled combat to life with stunning art. Paired with a strong back-up story and this has something for everyone. Lost Fantasy is always a safe bet to deliver high level storytelling each issue!
