Adams splits time between Rayner and Jordan for this new beginning, The opening pages give a soft open for Rayner to resume his Lantern Earth duties. Running into Roadblock offers many familiar themes. The conflict is brief but opens his new issues on Earth. Rent isn’t paid by charging a Lantern. Being in LA, when a random producer approaches Odyssey and Rayner, the shadiness is impossible to ignore. Fans watch as the dialogue is more lighter in dealing with this venture. It’s a solid counter to Jordan’s dilemma.
The space adventure he weaves is one of uncertainty. Panels with Jayna demonstrate the odd sense of danger haunting the par on a new planet. This leads to an impromptu run-in with the Guardians. Dialogue is strong as they attempt to per sway Jordan to stop his search. Readers watch as the mood becomes increasingly uncomfortable. It leads into a solid back and forth between Jordan and his audience. The fallout provides an escape with a flare in delivery. It ultimately winds up taking a detour as another figure has crashed the party. How they impact events will be somehting to watch.

Guara & Montos split art duties on this issue. The opening fight in Los Angeles proves eventful in welcoming Rayner back to action. A full image of him soaring into screen begins a quick skirmish. Panels are packed with classic GL action. It leads into a solid finish. The full page image delivers the K.O. blow to the battle at hand. From here, Rayner’s time is more grounded in the sleaziness of LA. Readers watch as the movie producer’s meeting goes as bad as one may think.
In comparison, Montos’ full page image of the outpost planet makes a great impression. It moves events into Hal’s story with much wonder behind it. The encounter with the guardians gets a full page moment. Their talk strikes up many new looks. Both sides don’t seem to want to agree. It leads to a quick escape via Wonder twin powers. The speedy chase kicks up the pacing. This locks in the eventual show-stopper moment. The latest contestant debuts via full page. Overall, a very steady chapter.

Rayner and Jordan start their new paths with varying success. Adams balances out the drama with well-timed humor. The art teams bring out the most form their respected tales. It’s a brand new day where everyone will be green with envy if they miss this!
