FORT PSYCHO #3 (ONI PRESS)

The group tracks down Keefer on his own personal island hideaway. He tells them that the Blue Bishop, who is believed dead, is alive and them being on the island is a conspiracy. The love triangle between Jason, Winter, and Method gets murkier as someone tried to take Keefer off the board permanently.

WRITING:

Matt Kindt continues to unravel this crazy action espionage adventure we are on. Getting to Keefer and seeing that this island may just be a big distraction from the real goal at hand, puts this story into a little more perspective. The more Kindt unfolds, the more he teases other alternative narratives. The love triangle makes things more unclear and uncertain. Which one of the three can we trust? Can we even trust any of them? No matter what conclusion you come to, you will probably be proven wrong by the end of the series. This uncertainty is this stories strongest element and Kindt keeps that going in this issue. As we go further down the rabbit hole it becomes harder to find our way out. Thankfully this is all part of Kindt’s plan, so we are in for one heck of a ride.

ARTWORK:

The artwork deepens the story, giving readers a close-up view of the action. Brian Hurtt captures the island’s beauty while hinting at trouble beneath the surface. His character designs reveal the former teammates’ personalities and suggest secrets they may be hiding, encouraging readers to look for subtle clues and Easter eggs. When Keefer takes out Toker we are reminded that this can also be a violent world, and Hurtt brings that to life as well. Bill Crabtree’s vibrant colors make the darker tones of shadowy dealings even more striking. Together, the art team enhances the story with impressive visuals on every page.

Final Thoughts:

Fort Psycho #3 keeps readers guessing with shifting loyalties, tangled relationships, and revelations that raise more questions than they answer. Matt Kindt makes uncertainty the story’s greatest strength, while Brian Hurtt and Bill Crabtree balance the island’s beauty with its underlying danger. This issue delivers an engaging mix of espionage, mystery, and action, leaving plenty of reasons to come back for more. If you haven’t jumped on board with this series yet, now is a great time to grab an issue or all three when you visit the LCS this week.

FINAL GRADE: 9.2/10
