WRITING:
This series continues to be a ton of fun and super entertaining. Brett Bean continues to find fun ways to put our beloved D’orc in some interesting and entertaining scenarios. The humor in this issue and series always hits and makes for an enjoyable read. Bean’s ability to not take the story completely serious and keep a very tongue in check approach to the story is what makes this story so good. Just when you think the story can’t get more ridiculous, we get a Thrawg, followed by a waring inbred Goblin family. The over-the-top approach is truly the star of this series and this issue nails that and some.
ARTWORK:
The artwork in this issue captures the story’s playful energy. Brett Bean leans into a clean, cartoon style that supports the book’s whimsical tone while pairing nicely with its sharper, more grown-up humor. His visuals also deepen the fantasy setting. Jean-François Beaulieu ties everything together with bright, cartoon-leaning colors that fit the linework perfectly. Together, the team makes each panel easy to sink into and hard to look away from.

Final Thoughts:
D’ORC #4 continues this fun and humorful adventure story that we are all on the ride for. The crazy scenarios D’orc finds himself in really set this series apart from all other titles on the shelf. Having a series that doesn’t take itself too seriously, well steering directly into fun absurdities is a breath of fresh air in this comic landscape. D’orc reigns supreme as the most fun title at the LCS every month and if you haven’t checked it out yet, now is a perfect time to grab an issue and have a laugh or ten.
