STAR WARS: BOBA FETT BLACK WHITE AND RED #4 (MARVEL COMICS)

Hello there! Padawan J here, the resident Star Wars expert from the ODPH! This week I'm going to be reviewing the 4th issue of the mini-series Boba Fett: Black, White & Red from Marvel Comics!

This is the final issue of the miniseries, and it is just as good as the prior three issues! It’s a unique series because just like its predecessor’s (such as Darth Vader), it only uses THREE colors. Those colors are black, white & red! It’s always a fascinating series when Marvel does it, and this series is no different! So let’s jump into it!

CREDIT: MARVEL COMICS // Star Wars: Boba Fett - Black, White & Red #4 by Alyssa Wong (Writer), Sara Pichelli (Artist), Rachelle Rosenberg (Color Artist), VC’s Joe Caramanga (Letterer), Ken Lashley & Juan Fernandez (Cover) is a phenomenal conclusion to the series and cements Boba Fett’s legendary status

*** POSSIBLE SPOILER WARNING ***

The Story

Alyssa Wong is penning the story for this issue and continues the trend of the series in adding to the lore of why Boba Fett is the most dangerous bounty hunter in the entire galaxy.

This issue has it all! Familiar faces, familiar places and a story that feels like something you would’ve come up with on the playground with your friends back when you were kids. I really enjoyed some of the familiar faces you see in the issue, because it adds that cohesiveness that you would expect in the Star Wars universe. I also didn’t expect to see the familiar places that we see in the issue. You could’ve done any planet you wanted with this story, but doing it where they did really makes a lot of sense.

The issue really works well because you don’t need to know anything going into it other than making sure you’re familiar with who Boba Fett is. It just has that classic Boba Fett feel to it that makes him live up to the legendary status he’s earned over the years.

The Artwork

Sara Pichelli & Rachelle Rosenberg did an incredible job with the art in the issue. As always, they can only use 3 colors for the palette and they do so effectively. I don’t think I’ll ever not be amazed how much you can get done with just 3 colors. The artwork is also some of the most crisp art you’ll see from any Star Wars comic on the stands right now. It also continues to be the most visually stunning series I’ve seen.

FINAL POINT: If you want to read a classic Boba Fett story, this is the story for you. It’s a new story, but it has a classic feel to it that works so well. Together with artwork that is some of the best on the stands, you don’t want to miss reading this issue.

FINAL GRADE: 10/10
