*** POSSIBLE SPOILER WARNING ***

Aaron pulls back on the intense action to allow needed insights to creep in. None are more greater than Irons’ acceptance of change. His arrival in Smallville opens up a new avenue for Superman. The writing shows his wonder as Kal welcomes him to the Kent farm. Lo and behold, what he finds in the process is anything but normal.

Readers watch as their growing partnership expands into diving into the “normal” life of Kal-El. Their banter at the diner is a rare glimpse at the internal expressions of Superman. It helps to hide Irons’ own insecurities. Aaron mixed this in with brief skirmishes with classic Superman rogues. The moves see Superman approach resolutions differently. Expressing hope over doubt resonates with not only them but Irons himself. This allows a new hero to rise and take his destiny by the horns. A great set-up issue for something even more impactful down the road.

Ferreyra opens with a vintage look of Irons arriving on Superman’s home. This gives way to an exciting two page splash. Readers watch as the pair gets to business in handling an unpredictable foe. Once business is handled there, the panels move to the closer bond forming between heroes. Each convey some uncertainty while trying to establish a foundation to grow.

Another fantastic two page spread brings action to the pages. It provides a small break to show Irons’ emotions start giving way to self belief. This helps lay a base to grow his aspiring hero career from. Readers also see a quieter look at Kal as he gets a break from being Superman for a brief second. The panels show his unsettled nature as the weight he carries never leaves his shoulders. These panels give way for a spectacular look at Irons in his final stage. It moves events into a more calm phase to conclude with. One last full shot wraps up events on a high note with promise for tomorrow.

FINAL POINT: 9
